Īfter all this chatter finally think I can go to the people I follow in the Genealogy community and hire a person to clean up my data. Note the icon on the toolbar that shows places as a list. The first is the default view that simply shows all of you places as a list. Gramps are the most advanced feature rich professional genealogy research software on the marked, it’s not the easiest software package to start using, but when you haveread a little, viewed the exellent videos made by a user on youtube, the program and its add-ons (Gramplets) will just WOW you (if you are not one of those. I recall that the first (proprietary) genealogy programme I used called Family Tree (an Xmas gift back in the late 90s) was a nightmare to use. But then the latter is true of most genealogy software I have used. I am willing to pay someone to help with the software management. Gramps is excellent, fully featured genealogy software aimed, I believe, at genealogy professionals. People - A list of every individual in your records featuring birth/death. A variety of widgets provide quick analysis of your data and more. Gramplets - A dashboard to help you monitor the progress of your research. Think I need to hire someone who can help Have some ideas on cleaning up some of the data. Gramps is a genealogy program that strives to be both intuitive for hobbyists and feature-complete for professional genealogists. Started moving my backups to external hard drives. Then microsoft decided to move my files to their cloud… I was in a panic.
By 2018 had multiple copies and began to loose track of what I had. Finally downloaded the entire tree as a GED.does not use most image files(jpg etc.) Many images were stripped from the tree, and uploaded the tree again.(Should have stopped and hired someone to help. When I was able to sync again (1 1/2 yrs later) My tree would not sync. About 2014 Family Tree Maker was no longer supported by the owner. Think I need to stop looking for a magic solution.
